Luminous.Works LLC

Refund Policy

Effective 15 August 2026 · Version 1.0
Applies to every Luminous.Works software product bought directly from us

The promise

Fourteen days. No questions asked. Money back to the card you paid with.

We will not ask you to justify it. We will not offer you store credit instead. We will not counter with a discount to keep the sale. You write, we refund.

1Why the policy is this generous

Because our instruments ship without a trial or demo build, and that is a deliberate decision we made for reasons on our side, not yours. The consequence is that you buy before you have heard the thing in your own session, on your own material, through your own monitors.

We do not think it is reasonable to ask that of you and then make a refund difficult. A fourteen-day unconditional refund is the only honest answer to a product you cannot audition, so that is the policy, and it is not hedged.

2How to get one

  1. Email owner@luminousworksllc.com within 14 days of your purchase, from the address you bought with.
  2. Include your licence key — it looks like WG3-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX — or your order receipt if you cannot find the key.
  3. That is the whole process. You do not need to explain yourself, and we will not ask.

We process refunds within three business days of receiving your email. Your bank or card issuer then takes its own time to show the money back to you — typically five to ten business days, which is out of our hands.

3What happens to your licence

A refund revokes the licence automatically. It is worth knowing exactly what that looks like, so nothing surprises you mid-session:

The same applies to every seat on a multi-seat licence. Refunds are issued against the licence, not against individual seats — we do not refund two of your five Opera seats and leave three running.

4After the fourteen days

The window is a promise, not a wall. Write to us anyway.

In particular, and outside any window: if the software will not run on a system we say it supports, and we cannot fix it, we refund you. No time limit attaches to that. Something that does not work is not a product, and keeping your money for it is not a business we are interested in running.

5Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal on digital purchases. Many software sellers ask you to waive it at checkout in exchange for immediate download. We do not. You get the download immediately and you keep the full statutory window, which our own policy matches anyway.

Nothing on this page limits any right you have under the consumer law of your own country. Where that law is more generous than this policy, that law wins.

6Chargebacks

Please email us before you call your bank. A chargeback revokes your licence exactly as a refund does, so it gains you nothing you would not have got by asking — but it takes substantially longer to reach you, and it costs us a fee on top of the refund.

We have never refused a refund request. Asking is faster.

7Fraud

We reserve the right to decline a refund where we have clear evidence of fraud — for example, a licence key that has been published or resold, or a pattern of repeat purchase-and-refund across multiple products. This is not aimed at customers who change their mind; it is aimed at people distributing keys. If we ever decline a request, we will tell you plainly why.

8Updates you have already received

Your purchase includes every update within the same major version at no further cost. A refund ends that entitlement along with the licence.

9Bought somewhere else?

This policy covers purchases made directly from Luminous.Works. If you bought through a reseller or a bundle, that seller's refund terms govern the transaction and you will need to go to them — we cannot refund money we never received. We will still help you with anything technical.
